This interview is with Edward DePeters, Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Animal Science. He was appointed in 1979 and retired in 2022.
Ed’s research focuses on animal nutrition, specifically on how dietary protein affects milk protein synthesis by the cow, how diet affects fatty acid composition of milk fat, and the use of by-products as feeds for dairy cattle.
Ed was renowned as a great teacher and received the coveted UC Davis Prize for Undergraduate Teaching and Scholarly Achievement in 2009.
